At the same time, there is an increase in the number of pigs and poultry, the press service of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said in a statement. the number of cattle in the country decreased by 3% and amounted to 3.66 million heads. Of these cows - 1.93 million animals.
The number of cows decreased by 3.9%. The number of pigs increased by 0.8% and amounted to 6.17 million heads. Poultry increased by 3.7%, which amounted to 204.8 million heads. The quantitative indicator of the number of sheep and goats in Ukraine decreased by 2.7%, which amounted to 1.47 million animals.The data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine did not take into account the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, which are not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.
Earlier it was reported that in 2018, Ukrainian enterprises shipped 328 thousand tons of poultry meat to the foreign market, which amounted to $ 506.6 million in monetary terms. According to analysts, chicken export from Ukraine grew by 123% in three years. The main buyers of Ukrainian chicken were Slovakia, Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands.
