Leading specialists from the United States University of Natural Sciences Research are currently engaged in the development of a unique variety of culture such as avocados.
The goal of scientists is to produce a fruit that will not overripe. It is also known that the developers also intend to ensure that the flesh of the avocado does not change its shade to a darker one during the ripening process.
It is reported that research on new "versions" of avocados will be conducted at the National University of Colombia, which is located in the city of Bogota. As part of their activities, breeders also intend to influence the speed of ripening avocados and try to give this fruit the ability to preserve the color of its pulp and its structure.
It is noted that the results of research on avocados, which at one time helped to transcribe RNA molecules, help developers achieve their goal. All this will help breeders in their future work on creating new varieties of avocados.
It should be noted that at the moment, over eighty percent of avocados in the United States are imported. Traditionally, manufacturers from Mexico supply this product to Americans.
