EastFruit experts and suppliers of agricultural products from the Transcarpathian region reported that as a result of the riot of natural disasters, almost the entire crop of berries and vegetables of the region’s closed ground was lost.
Settlements in several regions of Transcarpathia were in the grip of bad weather in the middle of last week, and the flooded territory increased all the time.
In particular, the village of Borzhavskoye, which is known for a large number of greenhouses, was affected by the flood. Here, private farms have almost ripened tomatoes of closed ground. To preserve at least a small part of the crop, farmers began to collect more green fruits.
As local vegetable growers say, plants that have stood in water for more than a day can no longer be saved. They could bear fruit for several months, but the weather made its own adjustments, leaving many Transcarpathian families without the usual good earnings.
The agricultural producers of the Irshava region faced the same difficulties, where greenhouses and vegetable gardens were also flooded. Many farms urgently collect garden strawberries, because the harvest is in full swing. People stand in the water to pick berries, which creates inconvenience and greatly reduces the quality of the products.Berry can not be transported over long distances, so you have to sell it on the spot. Thus, the Transcarpathian berry is no longer on the Kiev market. It was replaced by products from the southern regions of the country.
