The number of cases of African swine fever has increased 10 times - from 16 to 163 cases over the past four years, experts say BRDO. There are mechanisms in the country that could rectify the situation: state support, insurance, prevention, and compartment, but they almost do not work.

The disease causes the greatest damage to small farms that do not have the technical capabilities to comply with all the safety requirements for raising livestock. In this situation, farmers make independent attempts to protect pigs from death. To this end, they uncontrolledly use antibiotics and veterinary drugs, which makes animals insensitive to drugs and poison their meat.

Registration and identification of animals in the meat market of Ukraine is a complicated procedure, which forces farmers to bypass it. Because of this, there are many animals on the market that did not go through registration and were not identified. Their meat which may carry danger.
