After the May holidays, changes took place in the apple market of Ukraine, and product prices began to rise, as reported by the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UPOA).

Analysts emphasize that these changes still will not be able to save the season, which most market participants call unsuccessful due to the lack of acceptable prices for the initial sale of goods in 2018.

Most Ukrainian gardeners have already completed the sale of apples. Those who own a certain volume of product cannot guarantee the availability of bulk batches of high quality apples.

In terms of variety diversity, the supply of locally grown apples in the country's markets is very scarce. Basically, customers are offered apples of the Jonagold and Idared varieties, much less often you can find Golden Delishes on sale.

Specialists of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association note that a rise in the price of apples to 7-9 UAH / kg is a natural phenomenon, as stocks of high-quality fruits in stores are becoming increasingly depleted. But before the end of the current season 2018/2019, the majority of entrepreneurs will not have time to get a good income from the sale of apples.

Earlier it was reported that after price increases in early May, the cost of the most popular apple varieties in Ukrainian markets rose by 50-80%. Some varieties of apples went up 2 times.
