Mushroom factory Delta Danube in Kovin (Serbia) will be increased by 1 ha., Which will lead to the hiring of more workers, and all this due to the high demand for the product.
Demand for mushrooms has grown so much that the plant expands its capacity and builds a new hall. This is good news for local residents, because with the expansion of jobs new jobs will be created.
This plant has been operating in Serbia since 2015 and is located in the industrial zone of Kovin. Today, the company employs more than 200 people, explains Sunil Mamgain, director of Delta Danuba, India.
“The new facility will be fully automated, equipped with modern equipment and computers. The equipment came from Italy, although it was purchased from a Serbian company, ”says Mamgain.
Delta Danube produces about 6 tons of mushrooms for export per day. Until now, exports have been to Russia, the Netherlands, and also to Germany. It is planned that after the modernization of the new part of the plant, the company will increase its own production, which should reach 14 tons of mushrooms per day.
“We will hire more workers, but not too many, because most of the work will be done by machines. The new hall will be completed by the end of the year and will become the largest indoor structure in Serbia, which I am proud of. More than 1 ha. under one roof, in fact, 12 thousand m², ”says Sunil Mamgain.
The expansion of the plant will cost 4.5 million euros. In the new part of the factory, only mushroom cultivation will be carried out, while the freezing process is carried out in the production part.
“I like Serbia, so I chose it for life. I moved in 2016, although three years before that I had come to explore the land, the environment and started a project to build a plant. The mushroom business is dirty due to the large amount of land and garbage, and if a person does not want to get dirty, they will not be employed, ”Mamgain says.
