According to information as of March 1, 2019, almost 3.8 million livestock were subjected to the registration procedure in Ukraine, according to the data of the Unified State Register of Animals, which were published by the Agency for the Identification and Registration of Animals.
Recall that bill No. 9022 on the identification and registration of animals passed through all the committees of the Verkhovna Rada. MPs planned to introduce the bill for consideration, but, like a whole string of draft laws on the agro-industrial complex, it did not receive their attention.
The law has not yet been adopted, but farmers continue to massively register their livestock. 3 million 277.8 thousand cattle, 458.6 thousand sheep and goats, 85.9 thousand breeding pigs and 16.8 thousand horses have already passed the registration and registration procedure. For comparison, from the beginning of this year to the end of February, Ukrainian farmers registered and registered only 255 thousand head of cattle. Of these: cattle - 119 866 heads, sheep and goats - 13 395 heads, breeding pigs - 9 950 heads, commodity pigs - 112 385 heads, horses - 164 individuals.
Recall that mandatory registration and registration comply with the standards of the European Union. If the law is passed, it will affect not only livestock, but also pets. Identified will be considered animals that have been implanted with a microchip and which have a veterinary passport, which confirms the presence of a vaccine against rabies.
