In 2018, farmers harvested corn on an area of 4,556.8 thousand. In 2017, 24.669 million tons of corn were harvested. In 2016, farmers collected 28.074 million tons, in 2015 - 23.3 million tons, in 2014 - 28.5 million tons, in 2013 - 30.95 million tons.
Earlier it was reported that the current season was marked by an active growth in the export of corn. Ukraine has already shipped more corn to the foreign market than for the entire 2017/18 marketing year.
According to official statistics, in the first half of the 2018/19 marketing year, Ukraine sold 18.6 million tons of corn abroad, which is 1.7 times more than in the same period of the 2017/18 marketing year.
The main buyers of the Ukrainian product are European countries. It is predicted that China will soon join them. He has already purchased 1 million tons of Ukrainian corn.
