In the Chelyabinsk region, local veterinarians held exercises in order to conduct activities in the event that an outbreak and spread of the bird flu virus is recorded in the region.
As part of the exercises, Ural specialists demonstrated their ability to quickly carry out disinfecting measures within the boundaries of the source of infection, and also showed how to properly take blood from injured or potentially infected birds for laboratory tests.
It is important to note that today, in the Chelyabinsk region, fortunately, no outbreaks of avian influenza have been recorded. The last time the local bird population suffered from the attack by this virus in February of this year.
However, the administration of the local poultry farm, in whose territory the action of bird flu was allegedly revealed, subjected the conclusion of veterinary experts to challenge.
It will not be superfluous to add that the past 2018 was difficult for the Russian Federation in terms of the impact of bird flu on the feathered agricultural population - infections were recorded in at least fourteen different households of the country.
That is why the exercises to maintain and consolidate the skills of the correct course of action in case of infection to this day remains relevant for Russian poultry farmers. Note that the exercises to combat the African swine fever virus in the Chelyabinsk region will be held in July this year.
