A dairy farm located near Ashby St. Ledgers in England holds an open day for the whole family. The purpose of the event is to attract public attention and tell people about the agricultural industry.
The event, launched as an initiative launched eight years ago by the LEAF (Combining Environment and Agriculture), will take place on Sunday, June 9th. Bramley's farm will be open to visitors that day from 12:30 to 16:30.
Hilary Pilkington of Pilkington Farms Ltd Dairy said she hopes this will help educate the public about the world of agriculture.“There is a huge gap between society and the farm; we thought it would be nice to open our doors. We hope to show everyone what is needed for the production of a liter of milk and look forward to communicating with the public and give her a better understanding of where milk comes from to produce all wholesome, good, dairy products. Our milk is bought exclusively by Tesco and sold in Tesco stores throughout the country, ”said Hilary.
On this day, trips will take place on tractors and trailers, during which people can see the cows coming from the corrals to the milking parlor, watch the milking, see the feeding calves and look at all the animals in the animal shed. For sale will be fried pork and all kinds of snacks.
