In Baranovskoye UTO (Zhytomyr region) a project is launched to open family dairy farms. It provides for a series of workshops for community farmers and visits to farms that are already active in other areas, so that peasants can appreciate the opportunities and prospects of this business.
Within the framework of the project “Creation of Family Dairy Farms”, 17 farms are already successfully operating in the Rivne region, Khmelnitsky, Volyn and Ternopol regions. Another 29 farms are planning to join the work by the end of 2019. It is assumed that the project will give farmers the opportunity to get more profit from the sale of milk.
Cow's milk is the most popular. 400 million tons of milk are produced annually worldwide.
According to Oksana Zagorskaya, project manager for the Youth Cluster of Organic Business of Baranovsky OTO, family farms have the advantage that they can sell milk more than ordinary cattle owners.
Project specialists will provide community residents with consultations on the arrangement of farms and facilitate the marketing of products. We are talking about fair market relations, when farmers ensure the quality of milk, and purchasing structures guarantee an acceptable price for the products.
Now, project partners such as Galichina, Molokiya, Radivilovskoye Dairy Plant and Khmelnitsky Butter and Sausage Plant are ready to buy milk in Baranovsky UTO.
