Yesterday, February 25, agrarians from different parts of the Russian Federation, as well as foreign farmers, gathered in the city of Kurgan to discuss current problems, trends and especially the cultivation of industrial hemp. The meeting was held as part of the International Forum "Innovations in hemp breeding to solve environmental problems."

Scientists, farmers, and simply interested in new products and industry achievements, people discussed the production of technical hemp, discussed the subtleties of modern processing of culture and got acquainted with the achievements in the field of special equipment for working with this plant.

The deputy head of the Department of Agriculture of the Kurgan Region emphasized that his region has long been famous for its high interest in agricultural policy and farming: “We have every chance of becoming the Russian cradle of the production of technical hemp,” said Yuri Mikheev. “We have about 250 thousand hectares of arable land suitable for cultivating this culture, the work of logisticians has been debugged, and the process of using labor resources has been well-developed.”

According to Mikheev, it is in the Kurgan region that cannabis can be produced and thoroughly processed in a high-quality manner, and, as the deputy head of the Department of the agro-industrial complex emphasized, all this can be done under very attractive conditions.

The forum resulted in the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the regional agro-industrial complex and the company PromRussCon, which specializes in hemp processing. In the near future, a program to create a new processing plant will be implemented in the Kurgan region.
