Processing enterprises of Ukraine opened the season of harvesting blueberries. According to Info-Shuvar analysts, this year the season began ten days later than usual.
In the last days of June, the price of this berry corresponds to the price level of the last 2 seasons.
In mid-June, the first commercial lots of blueberries began to arrive at Ukrainian wholesale markets.
And last weekend, the processing enterprises engaged in the purchase of berries.
Due to the existing competition between traders and processors, there is no need to talk about a rapid decline in product prices, reports Tatyana Getman, head of the Analytics department of the Shuvar ORSP.
It is worth considering that the supply of blueberries in the country's market is growing unevenly due to rainfall that prevents the population from picking berries.
According to data on June 25 of this year, the wholesale markets of Ukraine sell blueberries at prices that are in the range of 50-60 UAH / kg.
Processors buy berries for further freezing at a price of 30-40 UAH / kg.
Last year, the lowest prices for blueberries were 50-55 UAH / kg and were observed in mid-June.Earlier it was reported that blueberries occupies a leading export position in the ranking of Ukraine’s frozen berries, it makes up 40% of all berries export.
Basically, this berry is harvested in forests in Western Ukraine.
