Not indifferent to the fate of goats, a Swiss activist from the Green party advocated returning the right to preserve horns to goats.

“Firstly, this is at least indecent,” says Irena Kalin, who represents the Swiss National Council in the Argau region. - Secondly, we thus clearly belittle the dignity of animals. Well, and thirdly, we humans can only imagine how painful the goats are when they are subjected to the process of dehydration! ”

Statistics show that today in Swiss farms there are about 85 thousand goats. It is impossible to say exactly how many of them are dehydrated. But Irena is sure that the number of animals without horns will be overwhelming in its scale.

“It is imperative to deprive farmers of the right to deprive goats of horns,” Kalin said. - I talked with scientists from different universities, and all of them unanimously say: those goats that have been deprived of horns are more likely to suffer from traumatic brain injuries. “If they had horns, this would prevent the injuries that animals receive in the herd when they collide with their foreheads.”

The activist also emphasizes that in many cases the process of animal degeneration ends with the death of the latter, which, at least, is not humane. And as a maximum - not economical.
