Recently, scientists from the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and Green biotech LLC, a joint Uzbek-American venture, have created a new generation of effective biofertilizers and biostimulants called Fosstim and Rizokom.
Fosstim and Rizokom biofertilizers have no analogues in the world, as eight patents of Uzbekistan have been obtained for each strain, said Jamoliddin Babakhanov, head of the commercialization and transfer of research and technology department of the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan.
Babakhanov said that using a new generation of organic biofertilizers on various crops in Uzbekistan will have a positive environmental effect, such as reducing soil salinity, phosphate levels, pesticides and mycotoxins; reduction of doses of chemical fungicides for seed treatment and their replacement with biofungicides (biofertilizers of the Fosstim, Rizokom series); restoration and improvement of soil fertility; resource-saving effect; and a decrease in the rate of mineral fertilizers by 25-50% due to an increase in the coefficient
Almost all nitrogen fertilizers are obtained from ordinary air itself. In its normal form, nitrogen is not available for plants. It is chemically bonded to hydrogen to form ammonia, which is then converted into convenient granules.
Direct speech: “Moreover, new fertilizers will benefit the environment in the form of digestibility of fertilizers, lowering the rate of seeding by 10-30% and lowering the cost of irrigation water by 20-30%,” he said.
Babakhanov added that the new generation of fertilizers will also bring economic benefits in the form of an increase in agricultural productivity by 20–25%, an increase in the profitability of agricultural production by 50–70%, an increase in export-oriented agricultural products, and a reduction in the import of biological raw materials.
Direct speech: “In addition, Uzbekistan will receive social benefits through environmentally friendly organic products and improved public health,” Babakhanov emphasized.
