For several years, Lviv students managed not only to establish the production of peanut butter in Ukraine, but also to make their company one of the leaders in the industry.
The history of the TOM brand began in 2012, when three students invested in the business for $ 100. Using a peanut processing machine, they produced the first couple of hundreds of jars. Serious production began in 2015, when about 2 million UAH was invested in the case.
Currently, the company produces its product on equipment from Italy and Germany, having slightly altered it to fit its needs.
In its work, the company adheres to the standards of DSTU and does not add chemicals to the products. The paste is sold for 6 months. The company buys raw materials for it from direct suppliers - China, India and Argentina.Under the TOM trademark, you can buy several types of peanut butter: salted, sweet, neutral, with honey, chocolate, dried apricots, prunes, cranberries, with pieces of peanuts, with pieces of chocolate.
Workload of production is estimated at 10%. Depending on the season, the company sells 3-10 tons of peanut paste.During the work, the company has gained many wholesale and retail customers throughout Ukraine. Her product can be found in eco-shops, small shops, outlets for athletes. The company tried to sell peanut butter through supermarkets, but they did not fit their conditions. The monthly turnover of the company today is from 500 thousand to 2 million UAH.
The company produces pasta in containers of different volumes. For the population, these are glass and plastic packaging from 25 to 500 g. For production, the product is packed in 10 kg buckets. The company plans to begin packaging in kilogram buckets.
When it was just beginning, in Ukraine there were no producers of peanut paste. Today there are 10 of them, but only 1-2 of them are real competitors. Besides peanut butter, the company has launched the production of tea, granola, condensed milk, as well as elite hazelnut, almond and cashew pastes.
Entrepreneurs themselves say that doing business in Ukraine is very difficult, and the market is completely wild.
