A special type of rapeseed, which is grown in Canada, canola, this year demonstrates low yields.
According to the forecasts of agricultural analysts, in the current season of 2019-2020, according to the results of the harvesting campaign, no more than nineteen million tons can be collected. For clarity, we note that last year the canola crop in Canada amounted to twenty million three hundred thousand tons.
At the moment, the average yield for this crop is forty bushels per acre. For comparison: last year, by the same date, the average yield was thirty-nine and a half bushels for each acre worked out.
It will not be superfluous to note that in the last three years, in most agricultural expanses of Canada, water supplies in the ground have significantly decreased. The current situation causes some concern on the part of the country's agricultural analysts, who, based on the data obtained, predict low canola productivity.
Nevertheless, at the end of June a series of rains fell on Canadian fields with canola. In this regard, crops developed favorably and in accordance with the standards. So it’s too early to put an end to the high volume of crop yield.
