Temperature violation
This is the most common reason a sheflera throws off leaves. In winter, she needs a temperature not lower than + 15 ° С, in summer - not higher than + 22 ° С.
If too many leaves have fallen, transplant the shefler into a new pot with fresh soil, and cut off the dry branches.
Excess watering
Scheffler does not tolerate waterlogging. Because of it, the soil becomes swampy and becomes the habitat of harmful bacteria - from this the roots of the flower begin to rot, which, in turn, causes the leaves to blacken and discharge.
You can save the plant from the disease as follows:
- Take out the flower from the pot.
- Remove the affected parts of the roots.
- Next, place the shefler for 2 hours in a solution of any biostimulant so that the roots are completely immersed in it. You can use the drug "Athlete" according to the instructions indicated on the package.
- After this, treat the roots with fungicide.
- The last step is to transplant the sheflera into a new pot with fresh substrate.
Important! Do not water the shefler for several days after transplanting.
For watering use only warm, settled water. The flower reacts negatively to cold water as well.
Water the plant as the soil dries. In summer, this happens approximately once every 2-3 days, in winter - once a week.
Dry air
At the first sign of a disease, remove sources from the plant that contribute to air drying (different heaters in winter). In the summer, move the plant from the south window.
Do not forget that the shefler needs regular spraying. Use room temperature water for this.
Also, leaves can be periodically wiped with a damp sponge so that dust does not collect on them.
Draft
Draft also adversely affects the shefler. Choose a place that is well protected from cold air currents.
Sunburn
A flower loves a lot of light, but it needs to be protected from direct sunlight. On sunny days, shade the window. But it is best to place the plant near the eastern or southern windows.
Nutrient deficiency
Bad effect on shefler and lack of fertilizer. The plant is fed from mid-April to early September 2-3 times a month with complex mineral fertilizers, which can be bought at any flower shop.
