In the Krasnodar Territory, the culture of aquaculture flourishes. In 2018, local fishermen sent more than 160 tons of various shellfish to the domestic and foreign markets, which are considered to be delicacies.

We are talking about Kuban oysters and mussels, which have long won a lot of admirers among connoisseurs of elite gastronomy both in Russia and far beyond its borders.

It is noteworthy that in 2017 the volume of seafood and delicacies from the Krasnodar Territory was two times less than last year's figures. In 2019, Krasnodar water farmers intend to increase the number of oysters and mussels at least one and a half times higher than in 2018.

Today, on the Krasnodar Black Sea coast, there are more than 35 sites for the cultivation of mussels and oysters. These sites occupy territories with a total area of ​​5.7 thousand hectares. This is not the intention of farmers to stop and plan to expand their mollusk “fields” in the near future. The lion's share of Krasnodar aquatic products will go to the markets of southern Russian resorts, where sea delicacies are in high demand.
