Foreign food more and more actively occupies the most profitable places on Ukrainian shelves. It is also surprising that the cost of imported goods, most often, is much lower than the prices of domestic products.

According to Alexey Doroshenko, who heads the Ukrainian association of suppliers to retail chains, a rather sad trend has emerged today: European suppliers are actively promoting the so-called “illiquid” goods on the Ukrainian market.

“In Europe, they carefully monitor the technology for the manufacture and storage of food,” the Association said. - And the manufacturer is responsible for the quality. If violations have been identified in the production of the goods or their storage, the manufacturer is obliged to pay the state a fine. And his company is subject to closure. Based on all this, the manufacturer must understand that the manufacture of low-quality goods entails a lot of problems. ”

Meanwhile, Ukraine does not impose such stringent requirements on its manufacturers and suppliers. This pleases importers who are not used to following quality standards in production. As a result, experts say, whenever possible, dishonest European manufacturers strive to send their “substandard” goods to inexperienced Ukrainians.

According to Aleksey Doroshenko, in Ukraine the quality control of goods is carried out in most cases only by media representatives or public activists. The state has officially neglected these responsibilities for four years.
